Auburn Superfan

It's time my cakes got their own blog. For a long time now, I've been posting pictures of my cakes, one by one, on Facebook. In an attempt to save my friends from seeing my growing hobby on a daily basis...here is where you will find my babies...I mean cakes...from now on.

I've been elbow deep in sugar, butter, and flour for the past two days. The result? Three cakes and two dozen cupcakes. Here is one I am very proud of...an Auburn Tigers cake for a big (SMALL) Auburn fan!

This is a chocolate cake with a cookies and cream filling and buttercream frosting.


These days, you always see fondant covered cakes all over TV and Pinterest, but I think buttercream is just as pretty, if you use it well. No need for the fondant, which people never eat anyway. Don't get me wrong, I use fondant...but I avoid it if at all possible.


Perry even helped out this morning, telling me when the frosting was the just the right shade of navy. Tough work.
Happy Birthday, Oliver! I get to make some cake pops and cupcakes for him next week. Pictures to come...
